Summary: Could a machine with just rn installed read news over NFS? Keywords: rn NFS news Message-ID: <2367@van-bc.UUCP> Date: 14 Apr 89 05:29:17 GMT Reply-To: skl@mtsg.ubc.ca (Samuel Lam) Organization: Balliffe International, Vancouver, B.C., Canada Lines: 18 Scenario: Two Sun's connected by Ethernet, one with B news installed and it exports its news volume *read-only* over NFS, the other has only rn installed but can mount the news volume frm the first using NFS. The second machine is not diskless, but it doesn't have a lot of free space. Question: Is having *just* rn on the second machine sufficient to allow users on it to *read* news? (We don't need to worry about posting for now.) Thanks in advance for your help. ...Sam -- Samuel Lam {alberta,watmath,uw-beaver,cs.ubc.ca}!ubc-cs!van-bc!skl
