Choose a name and hold the vote. I just voted for comp.sw.components despite
having severe reservations about the name and the net.ethics of the person
holding it. I just held a successful vote for comp.unix.i386 despite some
controversy about the name. If the name is a big enough deal to kill the
group then it's probably a problem with the group, not the name.
