In its third year it has taken on a very international flavour. Papers have already been received from France, Great Britain, Australia and the United States as well as from across Canada. The conference's three major interest streams are Applications, Communications and Systems (Hardware and Software). The variety of presentations will guarantee that each attendee will have no moments of boredom at any time during the conference. In addition several major vendors will be represented in the Exhibition area. The plenery speakers have been selected. They are Dr. George Connell (President, University of Toronto), Bob Ewald (Executive Vice-President for Software, Cray Research) and Dick Sherman (President, Supercomputing Consortia). The subjects of their presentations have not yet been announced. However, it is expected that Dr. Connell will discuss the state of high performance computing in the Ontario university environement. Mr. Ewald will probably focus on the issue of system and application software in a supercomputing environment. Mr. Sherman is expected to be concerned with the general subject of high performance computing in the decade of the 90s. The Call for Papers appears in <819@mcmi.UUCP>.
