I found that this not only archived the specified newsgroups, but also expired *all other newsgroups*. The above command line is taken by expire to mean: expire -e 7 -E 15 -n all -a comp.sources ... This resulted in our losing articles in 7 days in all newsgroups, even some local ones for which we wanted longer expiration periods. This is true for: #define PATCHLEVEL 13 #define NEWS_VERSION "B 2.11 11/19/87" This bug report is posted here to you won't be frustrated by the same problem.
