Hi, this is Neil (the other security list moderator). The zardoz security list is alive and well, has over 350 members, and welcomes new qualified members. The list is hosted on cpd.com (zardoz.uucp), which will be directly connected into the internet within a month (that's the schedule, anyway). Digests have been sent out fairly regularly. This list's membership is based on the premise that system administrators or persons recomended by their system's administrators can join. So please, if you want in, or have tried to get in in the past, try again. There have been a number of mail problems in Orange County in the past few months, and your mail might have simply been lost. I use uunet for almost all mail now, so there shouldn't be any more lost mail. >Also on special wishes from Mr. Burt there are lot's of redistribution >points around - waiting for something to redistribute. Due to the excellent connections zardoz has, some quirks of mailers that I take advantage of, and the resources available here, there is no need of redistribution points. If you are a redistribution point waiting for digests, send me the names of the intended destinations and I will add any that are immediately verifiable for membership to this list. >I would suggest, that we do something about it, now! Subscribe to the working list (mine :<). There have been problems at various points in the past with mail to/from Europe, so if you tried to get on to the zardoz list, please try again. Also, my mailer doesn't seem to do very well with %'s in addresses. The best bet is to send mail via uucp to uunet!zardoz!security-request or to send it to security-request@cpd.com if you are on the internet. If you are from a uucp maps listed site, please send me mail from one of the following: 1. root 2. the email contact name 3. the map entry writer's email name If you are sending mail from an internet site, please send it from an NIC registered site from one of the following: 1. root 2. the NIC listed contact Or, if you are not one of the above, send me mail anyway, and we can probably work something out.
