Of particular interest is the group called Spetznaz (spell??). In my preliminary research, I found out that these units practice against living targets called "puppets." Is this true? What is known about the formation, recruitment procedures, training, deployment, etc.? I am not looking for classified info, only good publically available sources of information, and, being a recent reader of this newsgroup, I figured this would be a good place to start. Also, one last question, having made it through Airborne and Ranger training (among others), how would that compare to what the Soviets put their elite units through. Gene Gross Rangers Lead The Way.
