I am interested in manipulating Informix SQL database files/tables  using
C-ISAM or any other Record-at-a-time access method (as opposed to ESQL/C).
Has anybody ever done this before?  
I am of the opinion that ESQL/C and 4GL were actually built on top of C-ISAM
but I have found no literature to this effect.
