Emacs' rnews package will not do NNTP itself.  That package is also
one of the weaker news readers I've seen.  However, pick up either
Gnews 2.0 or GNUS 3.11, news readers for use inside Emacs instead of
rnews; both understand both local spool areas as well as NNTP
operation, and are quite slick newsreaders all around.
