In particular, you can try:

 by Foley and Van Dam (Addison Wesley) section 17.4.5

or

Procedural elements for Computer Graphics
 by David F. Rogers (McGraw-Hill) ~pp403-406.
 (Make sure it is a new edition, the first edition
  contains a typo in the algorithm)
