I am using Zortech C++ on a PC but have access to Sun workstations. I also have copies of the books by Stroustrup and Weiner & Pinson. A number of questions come to mind: 1 is there a standard definition of the language other than in Stroustrup's book? 2 what compilers are available for Sun workstations? 3 I have seen reference to cfront. How does one obtain this in the UK? 4 are there any standard classes other than streams? How does one obtain them? 5 is there any programming environment available for Sun and/or PC? I have in mind something like the Smalltalk class browser. 6 is there good literature (books, articles or reports) on how to write 'good' C++ ? 7 has anyone experience of Zortech C++ and thus any advice about its quality ? Any comment or piece of information would be welcome either by email or over the net (choose whichever you regard the more appropriate) -- Keith Tizzard MSOR Dept, University of Exeter, Streatham Court, EXETER EX4 4PU, UK tel: (+44) 0392 264463 email: kt@msor.exeter.ac.uk kt@msor.UUCP
