I recently discovered that the format of the aliases dbm files is sensitive to the configuration. This bites you when trying to test major changes to sendmail.cf. I wanted to leave most of the traffic going through the normal configuration and divert a small part of it through the new one, a complete re-write. But the aliases.pag file is 32Kb under the old one and 51Kb under the new one, built from identical aliases files, and only one at a time will work. Is there a good reason for the difference, or could it be fixed? There really are good reasons for wanting to run multiple configurations in parallel, at least transiently. I'm working with 5.61. -- Steve Nuchia South Coast Computing Services uunet!nuchat!steve POB 890952 Houston, Texas 77289 (713) 964 2462 Consultation & Systems, Support for PD Software.
