Ok, fairly recent (< 1 year old) versions of Peter Honeyman's uucp are not 
compatible with some Sun (probably Sun OS 3.4 or 3.5) and Sequent machines
running their standard uucp.

I believe that it was a problem with using -vgrade=<grade> vs -p<grade>.  As
I recall, a simple modification to use both methods worked.
