Message-ID: <8905022315.AA16440@ames.arc.nasa.gov> Date: 2 May 89 23:15:23 GMT Sender: daemon@shelby.Stanford.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 18 I've been trying eklogind and I have a problem getting it to print out the encryption banner string: "This rlogin session is using DES encryption for all dat a transmissions.\r\n" I know that eklogind is setting the eklogin flag, and I know that the des_write of that strings returns 74 (the length of the string). Well, I never see the string on my terminal. To be honest, I have seen it twice -- both times when it was followed by syslogd writing to my terminal telling me the return value of the write (I added a syslog to the des_write call so I could verify that it was being executed successfully). My question is this: Has anyone else seen this behaviour, or have an explana- tion for it? Is there a fix? It's not critical that the encryption banner show up, but it is kind of nice... Any help appreciated. -Peter Yee yee@ames.arc.nasa.gov ames!yee
