The RFCs describe three type of nodes: B, P and M. The operation of B nodes is limited to a single broadcast and they use broadcasts for name service. In order to operate in a general internet and to minimize broadcast activity on the network, the RFCs define P type nodes which use a name server and a datagram distribution server. (M is a hybrid of P and B type nodes). All of the current implementations that we know of implement B type nodes only. Is there anyone on the network who has implemented these RFCs completely? We are interested in testing our P and M nodes against those implementations. Please mail all responses directly to me. Neeraj Sangal Matrix Computer Systems, Inc. uunet!matrix!neeraj
