Message-ID: Date: 3 May 89 00:40:30 GMT Organization: Class of '92, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 16 My external drive seems to have died, here are the symptoms: It responds to taking a disk in or out (ie clicking drive light goes on when a disk is inserted etc.), the drive will occasionally work normally, however not for long, it soon gives a read write error then claims that the disk is unreadable (however the disks are good in the internal drive...). I checked out the drive and there is nothing obiously broken, and all cables are in place, the power checked out ok. I would appreciate any ideas possible problems, also an explaination of the functions of each of the data pins (and their expected logic states) would be helpful... // Rick Golembiewski rg20+@andrew.cmu.edu \\ \\ #include stddisclaimer.h // \\ "I never respected a man who could spell" // \\ -M.
