If the Mac is on an Appleshare network (which requires a dedicated Mac as a server), a IIGS is supposed to be able to connect to it and share files through an Appletalk connector (the same as for a Mac) and cables with System 5.0 when it's released. System 4.0 requires additional software. For occasional sharing of files, which is all I need, I've found that Apple File Exchange combined with sneaker net is adequate. Alan H.
