Lines: 9 The problem of the mouse cursor going up but not down seems common. I've had it lately. The usual cause is reported as being a broken cable: replacing the cable didn't help. Since at that point there was nothing to lose by breaking the mouse completely, I tried adjusting the up-down encoder positioning screw (open the case and you can't miss it). A quarter of a turn at a time. For my mouse, one quarter turn counter-clockwise did nothing, but the second quarter turn fixed the problem. I'm still going to replace it, but now the situation is a lot less urgent. Hope this helps someone. Steve J.
