I am hoping that it will be easy to take the
locking mechanism from the Caps Lock key and
install it on the Ctrl key, and then install
an init to exchange the mapping for the two
keys.  Anyone ever done that?  Am I dreaming?

You can exchange them on PC-Xenix and DOS.
