A while back they sent me a notice saying that my free subscription
was going to expire soon, but that they would continue it for only
$75 a year.  I just let it lapse, since it's not even close to being
worth that much money.

About a month after my last issue, guess what?  I got a notice that
said I qualified for a free subscription...

So you might just want to wait a few weeks and see what happens.
