From what I remember of this discussion on CI$, the big advantages of the sony were the multisynch and the fact that it has a glare-coating. The disadvantages were less-accurate color rendition (adjustable if you are or know a hardware freak, but not for the Rest of Us, or those of us bothered by ~25,000v), and slightly reduced resolution, possibly due to the glare screen.
