Lines: 27 In response to "Is it possible to make a transputer look like it has been reset? " ---- YES IT IS ! There are two alternatives :- 1) Execute the instruction which puts the processor back into the reset state. (I'm not sure if this is documented nowadays, but it's there). 2) Run a program which emulates the peek/poke/boot procedure and then jumps into the booted program. Obvoiusly this allows more complex things than (1) (like looking for boot code simultaneously on links and non-link devices) but has the disavantage of not being able to cope with programs which try to boot into memory being used by the loader. We have used both the above with some success. (Although it looks like it is, this should not be confused with INMOS technical support). -- David Boreham, INMOS Limited | Email(uk): davidb@inmos.co.uk or ukc!inmos!davidb Bristol, England | (us): uunet!inmos-c!davidb +44 454 616616 ex 543 | Internet : @col.hp.com:davidb@inmos-c
