I recently discovered that our Bourne shell will read a file called $HOME/.shrc (very much in the manner that csh will read $HOME/.cshrc). This is NOT documented in our manuals and I have never seen it on any other SysV machines. For those of you who use the Bourne shell primarily, this is a great boon since you can effectively export functions (which can be used like csh aliases). Please email me any comments or previous findings. If the volume is great enough I will post a summary. Nicholas Jacobs UUCP: ...!uunet!toro!nick Internet: toro!nick@uunet.uu.net
