We have a APA8c display but some of the include files were missing. The performance of the APA16 mono monitor seems to be about the same as or faster than other vendors mono support. The megapel seems to have a fairly fast color support, from what I have been reading a reasonable color support is hard to come by. Now for the 8514 display. The 8514 is so fast that it rivals most of the mono displays I have seen even though it has 8 color planes. Large filled circles draw 10-15 times faster than I have seen on any other color or mono server. Unfortionatly IBM is not giving out the source for the 8514 driver because it is so fast. It would be nice if some other servers can benifit from 8514's success. One suggestion I have for the sample IBM server is to determine if a simple circle/ellipse is being drawn, if so use a faster drawing algorithm like the ones in X11R1 or X11R2. JonnyG.
