With no parameters specified it works fine; however if I give it an -up_flag or -down_flag option it comes up with the following error message and gives up. X Protocol error detected by server: BadMatch, invalid parameter attributes Failed request major op code 62 (X_CopyArea) Failed request minor op code 0 (if applicable) ResourceID 0xb00008 in failed request (if applicable) Serial number of failed request 33 Current serial number in output stream 33 The manual page for XCopyArea says a BadMatch error will occur if the drawables do not have the same root and depth. What does this mean, and how do I fix it. Incidentally if I use -display to put the bitmap onto a vaxstation display it works fine.
