Maybe a net reader can help:] We have an off-site SUN 3.4 GNU Emacs user (I'll have to assume V18.53) who is having trouble SCCSing files after editing. The last carriage-return (before EOF) is being stripped off the file. Since SCCS expects certain "on-a-line-by-itself" syntax, the SCCS command will bomb with an 'co5: "premature eof"' error. For example (note the last line in each case): Normal SCCS file: ^Ah11717 Sun UNIX 4.2 Release 3.4 (SPICA) #2: Mon Jan 11 01:18:58 PST 1988 ^AE 1 Problem files: ^Ah11717 Sun UNIX 4.2 Release 3.4 (SPICA) #2: Mon Jan 11 01:18:58 PST 1988^AE 1 Local users, using both VI and JOVE (along with the same application software) have had no problems. M$QUESTION: Since emacs normally doesn't exhibit this trait, it sounds like "operator error". But where and/or what should I be looking for? Any ideas?
