I think what you really want to do is bind "|" to print-buffer.  Since
rmail narrows the region to the current message, this does pretty much
what you want.  It has the advantage of using the same printer
definition the rest of emacs uses too.

[I've been using GNUmacs since v17, and I only just noticed this in the
last month, so don't feel too stupid.]
