Whew - this was my first shot at g++, so I thought it was something I
did.

At any rate, sun3-4.0 gcc 1.35, g++ 1.34.2, libg++ 1.34.0 and I get
the same 'friend even' errors in making libg++ - I'll provide details
if someone wants it.  In the meantime, is there some other version of
the above that I can use as a workaround?
