Subject: Any performance degradation to multiple unbatch's?

Our system unbatches news as it comes in as opposed to deferring this
operation. Sometimes an "old" unbatch is still running as more news
comes in, and another unbatch is fired off. Do these guys get in each
other's way, locking the history file, for example?
