If your player has a serial input for computer control, it can be done.
Usually this will be a 9- or 25-pin socket marked "Remote", "Computer",
or "Serial" or some such. the control protocol, baud rate, etc. will be in the user docs. There is a Voyager Stack
which was written for videodisk players. it is customizable and could be modified for audio players.
