I seem to recall having some people from the Ballistic Research Lab
reading this group, so I'm sure someone out there can answer 
this one...

Does anyone have what I believe is called the Subject Equation ? The
formula allows one to calculate the effective thickness of sloped armor;
that is, given a 50mm plate sloped 50 degrees from vertical, it's
effective thickness might be 85mm or so.
