AMD wishes to support customers developing UNIX systems based upon the
Am29000. Therefore, the complete source code for a port of 4.3bsd UNIX
to the Am29000 is available to any licensed AT&T user.

The 4.3bsd Berkeley UNIX currently runs on the AMD PC Execution Board
(PCEB29K), which plugs into the PC-bus of an IBM-PC/XT/AT or compatible.
It is a simple and inexpensive implementation of the Am29000 architecture,
utilising a video-RAM memory. The PC is used as an I/O server.

A detailed application note entitled "4.3bsd Unix and the PCEB" is
available which discusses the 4.3 port. It is suitable reading for
experienced UNIX system programmers wishing to understand Am29000
issues. Designers of new Am29000 systems may wish to evaluate the
experience gained in the PCEB port before committing to any new
hardware design.
