Keywords: IBM PC database simple flexible user-friendly Message-ID: <575@gaigan.cs.utexas.edu> Date: 17 May 89 19:25:36 GMT Followup-To: poster Organization: U. Texas CS Dept., Austin, Texas Lines: 25 I am looking for a friendly and powerful database system for the IBM-PC. I have been writing programs in dBASE III plus / Clipper for my father, which he uses to run his business. However, his database needs are constantly changing, and each new change necessitates a rewrite of the program. I cannot just set him loose in dBASE's "assist" mode, which really is not friendly or simple when you need any kind of sophisticated reporting. So, an optimal answer to the problem would include the following : (1) a very easy and yet powerful user interface, (2) fast queries, (3) a _real_ relational model, and (4) a good price :-) Any suggestions? Please mail replies to the below e-mail address.
