In your previous article, you listed your objections to the PROGRESS
version 3.  Currently, we are shipping Version 5, which includes:

        (1) a Multi-threaded, multiserver database engine;  For local
            users, PROGRESS uses shared memory to manage locks and takes
            advantage of multiple processors.

        (2) has new buffer management routines that employ hash algorithms

        (3) supports heterogeneous networks

        (4) resolves the before-image file usage

        (5) supports ANSI Level I SQL and most of Level 2, including support
            from the 4GL.


You really should take a look at the product again.
