I am looking into RDBMS products that run on Sun/4 workstations. I need to further refine my list my questions/requirements for a 1-3 workstation situation but here is a start: - is there a clear market leader? if so, which product(s)? what approximate price? - is there a product available that will have something good to offer to both experienced application developers and 'naive' users who might want to do small projects on their own? - product that runs under DOS (and/or OS/2) as well: -transportable applications? -file read/write across platforms? - file transfer with other software: word processors, SAS, graphics - how much Sun/OS savvy is required to maintain the product (e.g., if you pick this product you need a halftime systems person for frequent finetuning, disk monitoring etc. as opposed to a product that requires less maintenance by comparison)? - what are good sources for reviews, latest news etc.? Thanks, -Henk
