I just received some promotional literature from an outfit
called LANEX for their 'Multiple Bridge Analysis System'.
The interesting thing about it is a reference to something
they call the '802.1 (D) proposed standard'.

Is there a proposed standard for bridge management?  If so,
how does one get a copy?  When is it likely to be adopted?
