The controller that comes with it >is a NCL A 5525. It is a combo hard and floppy controller. I had a bout with one of those integrated hard/floppy controlers early this quarter. Another student has an ATclone that uses a Western Digital board that has both hard and floppy controlers. Minix will not run, even with the ROM wini. I think it is because of interrupt or DMA lines; the board does appear to have separate sections for each controler. The problem might be solved by using (ugh) a ROM floppy (i.e. make rom_wini also support floppies). Will any other multitasking OSes run with that board (like XENIX or OS/2)? I haven't tried anything else with the WD board. -- Glen Overby uunet!ndsuvax!ncoverby (UUCP) ncoverby@ndsuvax (Bitnet)
