Does anyone have source code or a pointer to source for a unix compatible
version of pack, the file compression utility?  Please don't tell me
about compress.

The problem is that I need to unpack files on an 386 pc which were packed
on a SysV Unix 68k computer.  Apparently the format of pack, unlike compress,
is dependent on the byte ordering idiosyncracies of the packing computer.
Presumably, source code could be modified to do the desired unpacking.
