I do know that this kind of font technology *is* supported under the current bit-mapped font structure, as any font using the NFNT resource type can be 4 or 8 bits deep in color or gray scale. I would suspect we would not leave this support out, but considering the font tecnology is completely different, I wouldn't know without briefing from the tech folks in Cupertino. There are no cheap 68030 upgrades for the II. I think the cheapest way to fly would be to get an upgrade logic board to a IIx, although this gets you only 15% new speed and a promise for VM later. The Daystar and Siclone accelerator boards all run about 6000-7000 dollars, and are prohibitively expensive for the average college user, like yourself. I would get a 68851 PMMU chip for your II if you plan to keep it, which you can get under $500 dollars. If you went to Macworld, you could have gotten the Virtual INIT and a PMMU for about $300 bucks (great deal!) If you want more advice, talk to me direct, via Bitnet. --Rick Ewing Apple Atlanta REWING@TRINCC
