You can't just do a partition without "initializing" the drive! It sounding like the initialization step was redoing the low level format at Apple's standard 12:1 interleave. After the init is complete you can partitio n and use the drive normally. The problem is that you don't have an efficent interleave. I think you need to use the HD partition tool to partition the drive and then use something like CII+ to put prodos on it. Now here is where I need help. My Apple SCSI card didn't come with the software disk. Can someone send/tell me where I can get a partition program or better yet HD partition....none of the local Apple dealers have SCSI cards. Also is the interleave only specified in the low level format or is an inter- leave factor also used in the high level format when you put prodos on the disk? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Steele co-sysop of NCSU Apple Users BBS 10 meg Apple downloads(latest PD software), Tech/Pascal/PCP discussion 919-783-9010 (PC Pursuitable NCRTP) Call today! 919-783-9010 BITNET: netoprms@ncsuvm.bitnet ARPA: mikes@ncsuvx.ncsu.edu JANET:mikes%ncsuvx.ncsu.edu@uk.ac.ucl.cs UUCP:...!ncsuvx!mikes ACSNET:mikes%ncsuvx.ncsu.edu@munari.oz
