Does anyone have experience using DEC's Network Information and 
Control Exchange (NICE) protocol?  I thought it might be useful for
retrieving network status information (counters, states, etc.)?  I've
just read a little bit about it and am wondering how hard or easy it
would be to utilize NICE in some "home grown" network monitoring
utilities.  Is there a programming interface to this protocol that
DECnet users (programmers) can take advantage of?
