They were split into two groups: Some said use ctrl-v and some said use ALT where is the ascii numeric value of the control code I want. I've tried the -v approach and it works perfectly. What threw me was the fact that after hitting hte ctrl-v you get a new prompt ("Key: "). Once I got the help from the net, I figured out that this prompt was prompting me to do what I really _did_ want to do.
