In this particular situation we need a fast printer but the print quality is not a big issue. The Epson native "draft mode", including the various forms of bold, extended, compressed, etc are quite satisfactory. I've bought a "Grappler" interface but it doesn't seem to do quite what I want - it seems to insist on printing everything in graphics mode which certainly is not fast! It may be that I haven't hit on the right combination of switch setting and chooser/print options, or perhaps some other solution is closer to what I need. Any and all ideas are welcome. Please reply by e-mail (to wlbrown@lbl.gov) as I don't often read this news group. thanks - -bill wlbrown@lbl.gov Disclaimer: These opinions are my own and have nothing to do with the official policy or management of L.B.L, who probably couldn't care less about employees who play with trains.
