I would hope that the user would also have the option of setting trash emptying behavior so that files in the trash are automatically purged when needed in FIFO order (and not before). With this behavior in place, I would also love it if when I trash "HD:x:y:z" it would be renamed to "HD:trash:HD:x:y:z". Now I would have a true FIFO trash, and it would be possible to ask things like whether there exists a trashed file corresponding to some file on the system. --dave yost
