Ever take a look at the price difference between a LaserWriter IINT and IISC? Says here that that the SRP for an NT is $4999, as opposed to $2799 for the SC. Almost all of that large difference is because of liscensing Postscript and PFS, the PostScript File System, and putting in the hardware to support it. With Apple's outline fonts, you can get that quality on an SC without paying for the extras. Also take into account that things like Adobe's new Type Manager will cost $$$ (although I haven't really seen this mentioned, but I can't see them giving it away for free), and that our System software doesn't need to cost you a dime (unless you want manuals...). Perhaps Adobe *IS* shooting themselves in the foot. I don't know. All I know is what I see on the price sheet. If anyone really knows for sure, feel free to correct me. On the other hand, they do seem to be doing pretty well for themselves... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keith Rollin --- Apple Computer, Inc. --- Developer Technical Support INTERNET: keith@apple.com UUCP: {decwrl, hoptoad, nsc, sun, amdahl}!apple!keith "Argue for your Apple, and sure enough, it's yours" - Keith Rollin, Contusions
