It does so by using 1 Megabyte from each UNOCCUPIED NuBus slot as heap space. (6 slots * 1 Meg/Slot) + 8 Megs = 14 Megs When newer, 32 Bit ROMs are released (either for old machines or for new machines, but don't ask me which ones...), you will be able to access disgustingly large virtual address spaces, assuming that you have the disk space available...
