I would like to remap the compose-character key to a meta-key; that is, pressing the compose-character would set the high bit in the character sent to the host. The idea is to get a meta character for emacs that is more conveniently located than the escape key. Can anyone shed some light on how to do the remapping? Pressing the key currently generates a local beep, but no characters are sent downline.
