I have ported the version 2.95 Unix Tex distribution (From Univ. of Washington)
which I obtained by ftp from labrea.stanford.edu

All it needed was a couple of flags for the c compiler to increase the size
of some tables.  The error messages are quite clear.

I am preparing for a conference next week, but if you mail me a request, I will
make diffs when I get back.
