Message-ID: <25371@ames.arc.nasa.gov> Date: 15 May 89 15:46:57 GMT Sender: usenet@ames.arc.nasa.gov Reply-To: chu@ames.arc.nasa.gov (Susie W. Chu) Organization: NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA Lines: 19 I have successfuly made the kterm in X11 contrib/clients/kterm and created a kterm window. In README, it says the bottom part can be used as a sample Janpanese text. My question is how can I display it. It won't work to cat it. Do I have to right a X application to display it? Or I have to setup the terminal control sequence and how? Is there more info or demo existed ? Please point me to. I am a Chinese from Taiwan, know very little about Janpanese (almost none). The purpose of learning kterm and other X11 Kanji applications ( I was told emacs and xmh hanlde Kanji, is that right? and what else?) is that I like to develop a Hanji system in X. Hanji and Kanji have a lot of similarity. I thought it is a good starting point for me to study the existence Kanji system. Any guideline or suggestion are welcome and appreciated. Thanks in advance. ---Susie Chu at (415)694-6003 or chu@ames.arc.nasa.gov
