PEX is alive and kicking. A group of Consortium members have sponsored development of a sample implementation, and that work is under full steam. Implementation efforts are turning up some problems in the spec, and these are being dealt with on a continuing basis. At some point a revised spec will go out for public comment. When is the prototype implementation expected? The public sample implementation is due in the late fall of 1990 (depending somewhat on timing with whatever Rn is around that time). Sponsors of the effort are of course seeing versions much earlier than that (like one real soon now). And is there any PEXy stuff on the latest X release? The SIGGRAPH '88 demo code is in R3 contrib.
