In GNU Emacs 18.53.1 of Sat Mar  4 1989 on odyssee (berkeley-unix)

It seems to me that the *Manual Entry* buffer could be made read-only.
As Emacs tells me once in a while, ``Undo information is not kept for
this buffer''.  In the unusual case one really wants to modify it, an
explicit C-x C-q (toggle-read-only) command could then be given to
regain the possibility of modifying it.
